Chongqing University appoints Professor Gerhard as Guest Professor

Reimund GERHARD, professor of applied condensed-matter physics in the Institute of Physics and Astronomy and former dean of the Faculty of Science, Fellow of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and Fellow of APS (American Physical Society), has been appointed as Guest Professor by the President of Chongqing University, Professor Xuhong ZHOU on 30 June 2017. The appointment of Professor Gerhard was made "for his outstanding achievements" and will allow him to work as an invited professor in Chongqing for 1 or 2 months per year. Chongqing University was established in 1929. Today it is one of the key national universities of China with special emphasis on engineering sciences and on international collaboration. With more than 37 million inhabilitants, Chongqing is the largest metropolitan region in China and one of the four municipalities under direct control of the central government (the other three are Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin).
